- The RFS statewide Open Day is on 26th September 2009. Peninsula will be open 10am, there will also be a free lunchtime Sausage Sizzle and a Free Bushfire safety Information Session starting at 2pm

John North has been removed from probation and is now a full ordinary member. Congratulations John!

Both Lake Macquarie and Wyong are now using the same radio network. This brings us one step closer to becoming one united Lakes Team. Lots of radio protocols are likely to change.

Fire activity has been above average with 10 calls this month.

Group officer elections are coming up, the preliminary organisation for voting is already underway.

Breathing apparatus, advanced firefighter, chainsaw recertification and first aid recertification courses were held this month. Well done to everyone who attended.

With the AGM next month, most of the brigade has been busy with preparations for the big day. Position holders have been tying up loose ends, the administrators have been ensuring everything is ready, hopefully everything is finished on time!

Peninsula members participated in the ANZAC day march and ceremony this month to pay their respects for those who have served to protect their country. Lest we forget.
-
The AGM has been moved forward one day to the 2nd of May to allow members to attend an information/training day for new position holders.

Some members deemed non-active have been making an effort to become active once more. Great work!

All three members deployed to the Victorian fires are back safe and sound.

Plenty of training courses are now available to sign up for, take a look at the training board for more details.

Fire activity has been above average with a total of 9 calls this month.

A number of members took part in the Breathing Apparatus Support (BAS) course and are now qualified support operators.

The executive’s forum is to be held this month. Peninsula will be attending along with many other brigades in the Lakes district.

Peninsula received a grant from the Federal Government this month and has purchased a new marquee, two new kestrel weather meters, two eskies, a much needed new barbecue and barbecue accessories. It has already been put to good use a number of times.

Railcorp has invited Peninsula members to take part in a joint training session for safe working near railways. Several members will be attending.
February 2009
- Peninsula had three members deployed to the Victorian Fires this month. Mainly these people were tasked to the badly affected areas of Kingslake and Marysville.
- Yearly training courses will be starting up again in March, all members keep your eyes on the training board for specific course dates.
- Locally fire activity has been kept to a minimum because of the amount of rain which fell this month
- Peninsula's AGM had been set for the first Sunday of May 2009 Fundraising Trivia Night is to be held 4th April, Click here for more info. Business support is also still needed for this night. Please contact Kristy on 0434 371 298 for information on how to help
- Three members passed Crew Leader assessments this month

Peninsula received a Federal Grant from the minister of family, housing, community activity and indigenous affairs. This allowed for the purchase of new BBQ equipment, replacement of missing Kestrel weather meters and the purchase of a new folding marquee. All this equipment was badly needed and will put to good use in the coming months.

Breathing Apparatus Support training will be held at the station next month for ALL VF qualified members. All VF members please attend, as this is a necessary part of Peninsula being fully operational with CABA

Neil from Peninsula's Junior brigade has stepped up into the ordinary membership ranks of the brigade since turning 16. He has now become a valuable part of the team, and has been very active getting out on the truck with some of the recent incidents.
